Shamina Mohamed

Communications Manager

Shamina leads the communications strategy and stakeholder engagement program at The Circulate Initiative.

Shamina brings 12 years of experience in strategic communications and marketing working with global stakeholders across Asia, Europe, and North America. She is passionate about environmental and social impact causes, particularly ocean environment protection, climate change action, and gender empowerment.

​Previously, Shamina was the Head of Communications and Associate Director, Marketing at Acuity Knowledge Partners (Acuity), a global research, analytics, and technology firm formerly owned by Moody’s Corporation. At Acuity, she managed external communications and media relations, led marketing strategy and thought leadership for key business units, guided executive and internal communications, and spearheaded brand development initiatives. She was a member of the senior management team at the firm’s Sri Lanka center and a member of the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee. She began her career in London with stints at the BBC and public relations firm Launch PR.

Shamina holds a Master of Global Media Communication from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in English Literature from Cardiff University, United Kingdom.
